screen prints
Most people know me as a photographer, however I have a little side project which has been growing into something special.

Screen printing had always been something I was interested in but never done. I love the way it looks, the texture, the rawness, the beauty of the medium and it's obviously hand created form.

Through printing (and designing the works) I can explore the subjects I am interested in - such as pop culture and iconography, femininity, sensuality, photography, graphics and design. Often all at once.

Sometimes I use my own photography and graphics, other times they are borrowed images - either way I am turning them into something different, something new.

My work is deliberately light hearted and graphic. I hope to make people smile whilst question there maybe something deeper or darker under the kitsch surface. There’s nothing like reading something several ways.

Screen printing is often viewed as a lower art form but it’s got a certain allure that is very pure. In this day of mass production, mass printing and this digital age we live in, screen printing is a true art form and one of the last processes of it's type which is still alive, very alive.

I keep the majority of my work to small limited runs. Through screen printing it is possible to mass-produce, I prefer to make something precious.
